Our Story

At Intellecy, our journey is driven by a singular mission: to empower canine search and rescue teams with insights into their training progress and optimize the canine’s behaviors and abilities. We accomplish this by a Canine Sensor Platform which captures high resolution GPS and other sensor data streamed to Lokate, a phone application that can be run side by side regular mission recording software.

The founder of Intellecy brings a wealth of experience from a long career at SKF, a leading industrial bearing manufacturer, where he specialized in signal analysis applications for bearing damage monitoring. With a focus on precision and reliability, he honed his skills in data analysis and technology implementation, laying the groundwork for his future endeavors.

Outside of his corporate life, the founder has always held a deep affection for dogs. As a lifelong dog owner and enthusiast, he understands the unique bond between humans and canines. The Kooikerhondje was the breed he had as a young boy, a small to medium sized breed. Search and Rescue (SAR) dogs are mostly big, powerful dogs hence he was surprised to learn that Kooikerhondjes were active in SAR. When he left the corporate world to start his own company, combining the love for dogs, the love for data analysis and returning something of value back to the community seems the most natural thing to do and intellecy inc. was born.

intellecy inc. is a, small, family based company. Started by an engineer nerd and his up-growing son, initially developing a water monitoring device and projects for young nerds, now solely focused on SAR canine electronic systems. Some of the previous products and projects remain presented on the website, perhaps of use to anyone interested - send me an email if you have questions about any of them!

Having joined SAR with my own canine in 2022, I find it an immensely rewarding experience and source of inspiration for engineering, learning and developing.

So what about that logo then?

The logo is a stylized dolphin jumping out the water. In forming the company, we worked on bylaws, mission, vision and all that other good stuff part of formation. As part of that we got to think about the company’s values and I found them uniquely well visualized by what we know of dolphins:

  • smart

  • agile

  • playfull

  • strong

  • well adapted to its environment

  • interactive

  • nurturing but not shy to take action

  • assertive but not confrontational
